Well known racer and Isle of Man TT competitor AJ Venter has announced that he has teamed up with Hygenica, a supplier of hygiene solutions, to form Team Hygenica Yamaha Racing. Venter will compete in the SuperGP category on a 2016 Yamaha R1 prepared by Emtek Racing.
After a difficult start to the season Venter said, “I am super excited to start this new venture with a new bike which I have never ridden before, as well as new sponsors to AJ Venter Racing! In my entire racing career in South Africa, I have never really had the opportunity of getting on to a brand new competitive machine. A massive thank you to Ricky Morais from Emtek Racing (ETR) for getting the bike prepared into race trim in such a short period of time. I would also like to thank Peter Wilkins from Yamaha SA for his contribution in making this venture possible. There is still plenty of work to be done in order for us to be competitive, but the team is working extremely hard to be prepared for Zwartkops at the end of the month.”
Venter’s first competitive outing on the new bike will be at Zwartkops Raceway where the third round of the SuperGP Champions Trophy takes place on 30 April and 1 May 2016
