South African Brian Baragwanath claimed his first ever Dakar stage win when he edged out overall leader Ignacio Casale to take victory on stage 3. The Yamaha mounted pair traded the lead throughout the approximately 200 km of the timed special but Baragwanath was in front when it counted, albeit by only four seconds.
Casale remains in the overall lead of the quad class with Baragwanath commenting his hold on second.
