South Africa’s Blake Gutzeit (Husqvarna) took his first podium when he finished second overall in the Junior (Under 23) class at round 2 of the 2015-16 Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship at the Sachsen Arena in Riesa, Germany on Saturday, 2 January.

Gutzeit scored a second, a fourth and another second in the three heats, good enough to give him second place overall behind championship leader Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM) who has won all six heats of the championship so far. Luis Oliveira (Yamaha) claimed the final podium position.

Gutzeit’s second place moves him up to third on the championship log behind Lettenbichler and Oliveira.

In the Prestige class the overall win went to Cody Webb (KTM) with Jonny Walker (KTM) and Colton Haaker (Husqvarna) filling the other podium spots.

Round 3 of the Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship takes place in Villa Gesell, Argentina on 20 February 2016.
