Organizers of the Dakar Rally have been forced to cancel the sixth stage of the 2017 event. The stage, which was to have taken the competitors from Oruo to La Paz, was cancelled after a reconnaissance of the course revealed that parts of it were impassible due to heavy rain.
The fact that many competitors struggled to reach the bivouac after yesterday’s truncated stage also played a role in the organizers’ decision.
