The second stage of the 2016 Dakar, which was planned to be one of the longest special stages of the race this year, has been shortened owing to the difficult weather conditions in Argentina at the moment. In the interests of safety the stage will now finish at check point 4.
The cars and trucks will now cover 387 km on the special stage while the bikes and quad will reach the finish after 354km.
