A new route was plotted and new road book drafted during the rest day with the course now taking in sections of the original stages 6 and 7. The new route, which takes the competitors from La Paz to Uyoni, consists of a 400 km link section followed by a 161 km special stage with another 240km link to get the competitors to the bivouac.

The motorcycles are first on the road and are expected to start at 12h00 South African time.
