Kiwi Shane van Gisbergen led team mate Jamie Whincup home in race 1 of the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint at Symmons Plain on Saturday afternoon. The win which was van Gisbergen’s first win for Red Bull Racing Australia and his first win at Symmons Plains, was Holden’s 500th win.

It looked like van Gisbergen was going to make it a double for the weekend as he had a comfortable lead in today’s 200 km race with less than five laps to go. Oil on the track, dropped by Cameron Waters’ Falcon, caught out a number of drivers, including van Gisbergen and Whincup, allowing Will Davison to get through and take the win for TEKNO Autosports.
