Max Verstappen surprised many when he put his Red Bull at the top of the time sheets in the final practice session for the 2017 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. He was just over a tenth quicker than Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) with Sebastian Vettel, who was quickest in both of yesterday’s sessions, third in his Ferrari a further four tenths back.
Things were incredibly close behind Vettel with less than two tenths between him and Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) in eighth place. Between the Germans, Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari), Felipe Massa (Williams) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) occupied fourth to seventh.
Qualifying gets underway at 17h00 South African time.
